How to Stage Your Home
Tip – Try to look at your home “through a buyer’s eyes” as though you’ve never seen it before! Home staging can help highlight your home’s best features, making it appeal to buyers’ senses and emotions.
INSIDE
- Clear all unnecessary objects from furniture throughout the house.
- Clear all unnecessary objects from the kitchen and countertops.
- In the bathroom, rooms remove items from counter and commode tops.
- Remove all personal photos from walls and tabletops.
- Review the house room by room.
- Paint any room that needs it
- Clean carpet
- Clean windows
- Make sure closets and garage are not too full.
- Replace burned-out light bulbs.
- Make sure all rooms are odor-free.
OUTSIDE
The front door and trim are the first part of your home that is seen. Make it good!
- If necessary, paint the front door and trim and replace hardware.
- Clean gutters and sweep patio and decks.
- Weed and mulch all around the house.
- Remove all garbage cans, discarded wood, extra planting pots to an unseen storage area.
